About the author
Who am I and why did I create this site? Also information for citing the site.
In 2007, after reading Wuthering Heights (by Charlotte's sister Emily) and finding there was a paucity of online information about the novel, I began creating The Reader's Guide to Wuthering Heights. The site took off, eventually becoming one of the most popular on Google.
Later on, I turned to another of my favourite books, a science fiction classic by John Wyndham. This resulted in The Reader's Guide to The Day of the Triffids
In the beginning of 2017, I started to re-read Jane Eyre after many years and watching some of the many TV and film adaptations. I began creating this site in April 2017 after re-reading Jane Eyre after many years.

As with the other sites, this one concentrates almost totally on the book of Jane Eyre and most of the well known TV/film adaptations. It does not delve into the other sisters' books, their lives and works, nor the musicals, theatre shows and songs about Jane Eyre.
If you wish to contact me, you can use the Feedback Form. If I can help you on aspects of the book, I will (but don't expect me to write an essay for you). If you enjoyed the site and just want to say "thanks", that's fine – it's always good to know that my work has been worth it. I won't reply unless it's necessary but I read every email and appreciate the thanks and comments.

You are welcome to refer to this site in any private work, as long as you cite this website (jane-eyre.guidesite.co.uk). For your information, this site is purely the personal work of myself and has no connections to or sponsorship from any organisation. The site was created in the spring of 2017 and the last date of any updates to the contents of the site was August 2026 when redesigned it.
Most of the information on the site is taken directly from the book. On some pages, such as the timeline and origins for locations, I speculate on things and include my sources and thinking.
